Reaching out to the poor

The US surgical Team hosted a medical mission in collaboration with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. The purpose of the mission was to reach out to the poor of the community. The team consisted of two surgeons, two anesthetists, two nurses and two medical students. The team performed 34 procedures that included repairing of all types hernias, hydrocelectomy and breast lump removal.
The surgeries were conducted free of cost. The team sought to follow the mission of Mercy Hospital which is to provide quality service to all, particularly the poor in the spirit of our core values of compassion, commitment and professionalism. Patients benefited from this mission and expressed their gratitude.
The management, doctors, and nurses of Mercy Hospital extends a sincere gratitude to the US surgical team for the successful medical mission. The surgical team extends thanks to the team at Mercy Hospital and all patients for their generous spirit of patience and trust in the team. They hope to return in the near future for the similar mission.
