St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Announces retirement of CEO Enoch W Gaskin and Appointment of New CEO Jerri Dias

St. Joseph Mercy Hospital CEO Enoch W. Gaskin has announced his retirement effective September 30, 2026.
Mr. Gaskin joined St. Joseph Mercy Hospital as CEO in 2018 and led the organization through tremendous growth and change. Little did anyone know that his extensive professional experience would be key in addressing the global pandemic ensuring safety, stability and continued service to the community. He oversaw implementation of Hospital Information Management System and Cyber security. He guided the organization through certification of ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jerri Dias as Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, effective October 1, 2026.
Mr. Dias brings eight years of experience with St. Joseph Mercy, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he has overseen strategic initiatives that improved efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall organizational performance. He has led diverse departments, empowering managers, strengthening collaboration, and increasing effectiveness in achieving the organization’s strategic goals while keeping our mission at the forefront of all efforts.
Mr. Dias also spearheaded the creation of a new team at Mercy Resident Care focused on enhancing quality of care, improving facilities, and increasing resident satisfaction. At the School of Nursing, an integral part of our mission, he has worked to expand educational offerings while continuing the tradition of students achieving the highest marks on their qualification examinations.
In addition to his executive experience, Mr. Dias’s preparation for this role includes master’s in business administration (MBA), bachelor’s in economics and political science (BA), and bachelor’s in theology (BA) and currently pursuing Doctoral studies in Business Administration (DBA).
With extensive leadership and operational expertise, Mr. Dias will guide St. Joseph Mercy as we build upon the progress already underway and advance toward our goals of providing modern, high-quality services to meet Guyana’s growing healthcare needs.
