Georgetown, Guyana – July 25, 2025 – St. Joseph Mercy Hospital (SJMH) and the Joint Independent Providers Association (JIPA) Network have renewed and significantly expanded their strategic partnership to enhance access to world-class medical care for patients in Guyana and the broader international community.
This renewed collaboration builds on a decade of partnership between the two organizations, originally focused on facilitating access to specialized overseas treatment. The expanded agreement now includes joint efforts to bring advanced healthcare services and technology directly to Guyana through SJMH, furthering the country’s goal of becoming a regional leader in complex care delivery.
“We are delighted to extend and deepen this ten-year partnership with JIPA,” said Mr. Enoch Gaskin, CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. “As our hospital celebrates over 80 years of compassionate service, this collaboration helps ensure that our patients have access to global standards of care—right here in Guyana and beyond. Together, we are building a future where local excellence meets international innovation.”
The agreement allows SJMH patients access to JIPA Network’s extensive global provider network of over 300,000 physicians, hospitals, and specialty centers across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Patients benefit from streamlined care coordination, expert clinical oversight, pre-negotiated pricing, and logistical support throughout their treatment journey.
“This partnership represents our shared vision for patient-centered, globally connected healthcare,” said Dr. Kester Nedd, CEO of JIPA Network. “We are proud to continue working with St. Joseph Mercy Hospital—a pillar of care in Guyana—to help bring advanced treatment options to local patients and to strengthen the country’s healthcare ecosystem for the long term.”
JIPA Network, headquartered in Miami, Florida, has spent more than two decades helping Caribbean and Latin American patients access specialized international care through medical travel, referrals, and health system integration. Its platform emphasizes affordability, transparency, and continuity of care.
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, a Catholic, not-for-profit institution, is one of Guyana’s most trusted healthcare providers. Known for clinical excellence and compassionate care, the hospital offers a wide range of medical services including emergency care, surgery, diagnostics, and inpatient treatment.
This enhanced partnership aligns with both organizations’ missions to make quality healthcare more accessible, affordable, and connected—while contributing to Guyana’s evolving role as a hub for regional medical excellence.
