St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Team assisted during and after the fire at Guyana Prison Service Living Quarters on Parade Street. Our team responded quickly to the situation and assisted with persons who needed care during this unfortunate incident. The unfortunate incident occurred during the morning hours of 2 February 2024 when a fire engulfed the building. The children from the schools in closeby vicinity were evacuated to safe and secure places. Guyana Fire Service Department was on the scene to contain the fire. We extend thanks to everyone who assisted during this unfortunate incident. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
